Awareness & Education3 frequently asked questions
Is poop scooping actually a real business?

Absolutely! Professional pooper scooper services take care of cleaning up dog waste so you don't have to. At Poop Scoopin’ Crew, we provide weekly, every-other-week, and one-time cleanups for dog owners throughout Northeast Connecticut and Rhode Island. We're a local, family-owned business, and yes, picking up dog poop is what we do!

Isn't dog poop good fertilizer for the lawn?

No. Dog poop can contain harmful bacteria and parasites, and leaving it on the grass can create unsanitary conditions. It can also wash into nearby waterways. Removing dog waste regularly is a better choice for a yard your family and dogs use. Learn more from the EPA.

Can dog poop make my kids or other pets sick?

Yes. Dog waste can carry germs and parasites that can affect people and other animals. Exposure can happen through contaminated soil or surfaces. Regular cleanup helps reduce exposure, although it can't eliminate every health risk. Keep up with your veterinarian’s parasite prevention advice, too. Learn more from the CDC.

How Our Service Works11 frequently asked questions
Do I need to be home when you come?

Not at all! As long as we have access to the areas that need cleaning, we'll take care of the dirty work. We send an on-the-way text before arriving and a photo of your closed gate after the visit, so you can go about your day knowing the cleanup is done.

What if my gate is locked?

We need unobstructed access to your yard on your scheduled service day. Please unlock your gate or provide an access code. Under our current service terms, a visit may be skipped if access is denied or unsafe, and the regular fee still applies. A return visit may carry an additional fee. See our service terms.

Do you make sure my gate is closed when you leave?

Absolutely. We understand how important it is to keep your dogs secure. After finishing the cleanup, we make sure the gate is closed and send a photo so you have confirmation. It's one of the little things we do to give customers confidence in our service.

What do you do with the waste?

We collect and double-bag the dog waste during each visit. Normally, we place it in your outdoor trash container or another designated location. If you'd prefer us to take the waste with us, optional off-site removal may be available for an additional fee. Ask us about availability for your property.

How often should I schedule service?

For most households, weekly cleanup is a good choice. It keeps waste from accumulating and makes the yard easier to enjoy. We also offer every-other-week service for customers who prefer fewer visits. The right schedule depends on how many dogs you have, your yard, and how frequently it's used.

What if my yard hasn't been cleaned in a long time?

Don't worry, we've seen plenty of yards that needed a little extra attention! We offer one-time cleanups and can help you get your yard ready for recurring service. Larger yards or excessive waste accumulation may require additional time and charges. Request a personalized quote so we can review your cleanup needs.

Do you still come in rain or snow?

Yes! Poop Scoopin’ Crew operates year-round, including light rain and snow. Severe weather, heavy snowfall, or unsafe conditions may require us to postpone service. Our current terms say weather-related missed visits are not refunded because the accumulated waste is collected at the next visit. Read our weather policy.

What if I go on vacation?

Just let us know! If your dogs will still be using the yard while you're away, continuing service may be the easiest option. You can also request a temporary pause. Our current service terms allow pauses of up to 30 days; after that, you may be removed from the schedule. Contact us to discuss your plans.

Do you sanitize your equipment between yards?

Yes. We clean and disinfect our equipment and shoes between yards with a kennel-grade disinfectant. We take sanitation seriously because we visit multiple homes and want to reduce the risk of transferring contamination from one yard to another.

Can I request a specific cleanup day?

You can let us know your preferred day, and we'll do our best to work with you. Our routes are organized geographically, so we may not be able to offer the exact day you request. We'll discuss the available schedule for your property.

Do you provide arrival windows for service?

We send an on-the-way text when we're leaving the previous job, so you can bring your dogs inside or prepare access before we arrive. Our current website does not promise a fixed arrival window. Let us know if you have an access or scheduling concern.

Safety & Trust2 frequently asked questions
Can you scoop with my dogs outside in the yard?

Yes, as long as your dogs are friendly and comfortable with us being there! We love dogs. If your dog is protective or shows aggression, please keep them safely inside during the visit. Safe access is essential for us to complete the cleanup.

Is your yard deodorizing treatment safe for my dogs and grass?

We offer optional yard deodorizing to help reduce lingering pet odors. The precautions for pets and grass depend on the product and how it is applied. Please ask us about the product, suitable surfaces, and any pet re-entry instructions before booking treatment. We don't want you to assume that every treated area is ready for immediate use.

Pricing & Flexibility2 frequently asked questions
How much does dog poop cleanup cost?

Pricing depends on the size of your yard, service frequency, and the number of dogs. Larger areas or excessive waste accumulation may involve additional charges. Request a personalized quote online for the options available for your property. We'll review your yard details and help you choose the right service.

Do I have to sign a contract?

We don't require a long-term subscription contract. You can request a pause or cancellation, subject to our service policies. Our current terms require at least 24 hours’ notice by email to cancel and do not provide refunds for the remaining days when service is canceled mid-month. Review our service terms.

Do you offer one-time dog poop cleanup?

Yes! You don't have to sign up for recurring service. Whether you're getting ready for a backyard party, moving into a new home, or just tired of looking at accumulated dog waste, we offer one-time cleanups. If you'd rather never worry about scooping again, we can also explain our recurring plans.

What's the difference between weekly and every-other-week service?

Weekly service means we visit approximately once a week to remove accumulated dog waste. Every-other-week service means we visit approximately every two weeks.
